At the start of summer we had a farewell camping trip with our awesome friends the Jefferies family. They were moving to Utah, and we were sad. But I knew the draw of Oregon would pull them back eventually, I just felt it. I was surprised however when that happened so quickly and they were back before the end of summer! Only not in Oregon City, but at the Oregon Coast in Lincoln City. They graciously offered to let us come visit anytime, so we took them up on that offer last weekend and went to the coast for a weekend getaway. The trip started off a bit crazy as our doggie Stanley went missing right as we were about the pack him in the car to leave. We searched for him to no avail, and left our neighbors watching for him and hoped we’d find him. Friday night we got there and had dinner and the kids played and were excited to see each other. Saturday we woke up to blue skies, and were able to go and play on the beach. Everyone had a great time. That night we went back down to the beach to roast hot dogs and marshmallows over a bonfire. We also sang songs while Kate played her guitar which was awesome. The Jefferies also had another family that they had met while they were in Alaska a few years ago who were passing through Oregon at that time that stayed with them for the weekend as well, so we got go meet them and their 3 cute kiddos. It was great to have a weekend away to relax and enjoy our friends. And thankfully on the second day there we found a listing on Craigslist from someone who had found Stanley, so we were able to go pick him up once we got home on Sunday, and he and Jamison were so happy to see each other!!
