Since the weather decided to give us a break from winter on Saturday with sunny skies and lovely 50 degree temperatures I decided to take the opportunity to go and take some 3 year portraits of Carter. We started out the shoot with him weilding his favorite weapon his finger gun. The problem with your child using his finger as a gun is that he always has it with him. Maybe if I just gave him a toy gun he wouldn't think to use his finger as a gun and then I could just take the thing away when I didn't want him to have it. So he was using his gun and his best sound effects, and that's what I saw through most of the shoot. I could post about 50 similar images, but I'll only bore you with 2. And after looking at these pictures it really made me realize that Carter is now officially not a baby any more.

Next I tried to get him to look at me to distract him from shooting, and this is what I got. He thought he was oh so funny!!

Then he started to look for the sun, he still didn't want to look at me.

I think this may be my favorite shot from our session, and he even tucked his finger in so it doesn't look like a gun!!

I caught a few good shots amid the jumping and spinning that was going on.

At this point Carter told me that he had to get something out of his pocket.

First he pulled out a hammer, then he pulled out a cheeseburger, then a ship. After which he threw them down on the ground.

Carter showing me how big he is!

Finally by the end of the shoot we started getting some great shots, and also had great light.
