Small Things

OK, so my attempt to make myself clean the house this week failed. I guess it's harder when you know that you don't really have to show everyone every nook and cranny of your house if you don't want to. And I came to the realization that this is definitely a gradual process. And while I didn't get the whole house spotless this week (I think I may have to ship my kids to live with someone else to actually get it all clean at one time) I did make some progress, and have decided to start sharing the small accomplishments that I've made during the week, rather than focusing on what I didn't get done. For one thing I proofed about 400 pictures this week, so I guess that counts for something. And I also took some pictures of the other things I've done this week, or the things in my home that I really love and make me smile. First off is the photos that I got hung up in my bathroom. I decided that would be the perfect place to hang some images of my trip to Paris.

I also hung a rod up in my laundry room for hanging my clean laundry on. Now this may seem like not all that exciting of news, but this has brought me immense happiness. I've been wanting a rod in this spot for the last 15 months that I've lived in this house, and I finally went to Home depot, bought the stuff and hung this baby up all by myself. I love having a place to hang my laundry!.

We also have been building a fence to fence in our backyard. I use the term "we" loosely since Brandon has done most of the work, but I have helped him some.

And this spot in my house just makes me smile. I love the frames that I made myself, and the old worn chair, and my behave sign.

When I went outside yesterday morning I just had to take a picture of my flag in front of my house. I love watching it wave in the breeze. We also had 2 really great talks in church on Sunday about patriotism and having gratitude for our free country that made me realize how much I love our country and all the people who have fought for it.
