Yes, I am so horribly behind on my blogging that I'm not sure where to begin. I've got about a month to catch up on, which during the summer includes lots of happenings! But I'll start back at our girls night at the beach that we went on the end of June. My dear friend Kate is due to have a baby (her 2nd one in 1 year after losing her sweet Elsa a month before Bennett was born), and I wanted to do something to celebrate this new baby, but knew she didn't want a traditional baby shower. So I decided to use the idea of a blessingway which is supposed to be to pamper the mama, and help prepare her emotionally and spiritually, rather than physically with things for the baby. It was also my lovely friend Katie's 30th birthday that week, so we made it a double header, a birthday celebration, and baby celebration. We got to the condo late on Friday since we all had to wait for our husbands to get home, and then got stuck in wonderful Friday traffic. So our night was packed with going out to eat for yummy swiss mushroom burgers, frosting cupcakes, having a little guitar sing a long (what can I say, we're a little cheesy like that, or at least I am), and just laughing and talking. We also made a bracelet for Kate with beads that represent different things that she will need for her upcoming journey of welcoming this new baby. We got to bed super late, (even Bennett, he stayed up till 11:30!), and then were reluctantly ready for another busy day. We ate crepes, and did pedicures at the condo and then took off. We headed south and saw alot of the washington coast, as well as lots of the northern oregon coast. We finally stopped in the evening to take some maternity photos of Kate in Seaside since we were stuck there due to a bad car accident. That will explain the photos of Bennett driving. He also gave his first pedicure that morning, so it was a day of lots of firsts for him. The photo shoot was a blast, and both Kate and I got soaked. I love having her as a friend because she is so uninhibited and just tries to enjoy the moment, and enjoy life. That is something that I have really started picking up from her. I just have to say that I love having such awesome girlfriends. There is nothing better than having such kind, caring, fun, daring women to surround me.
Kate, Katie, Dawn, Tara (oh and Bennett's in there too)

Here's a couple of my favorite shots from the exciting photo shoot!
